Dish and hand soap can be expensive, especially if you are wanting to ditch the toxic variety and opt for natural.
I have been doing this little liquid soap hack for a number of years now and I haven't looked back. It is so easy to do, gentle to use on your hands as well as the dishes and will save you plenty of money while being plastic-free too.
I am currently using the Wildwood Botanical dish soap bar for my liquid soap buy here
What you need:
- Grater
- Dish soap
- Jar to keep excess in
- Soap dispenser
It is so easy to make and will only take you a few minutes.
Step 1: Grate your soap bar
Step 2: Add 2/3 teaspoons of the soap gratings into your soap dispenser (depending on your dispenser size and how thick you like the soap, these measurements may change)
Step 3: Add some hot water to your dispenser and give it a good shake. And that is it! woo hoo
It won't thicken until the mixture has cooled and will thicken over a few days. You will get to know your preferred consistency. You can also add essential oils if you want a stronger scent in the soap.
Here are the variety of dish soaps we stock that you can make your liquid soap with.
